Recipe for Bison Burger

Bison Burger

Serves 4 Main course

Ingredients

  • 500 g ground bison
  • 1 small onion, grated
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • 4–8 slices of cheese (we recommend Arla Unika “Gammel Knas”)
  • 4 burger buns
  • Optional toppings: lettuce, tomato, bacon, dressing, etc.

Method

  1. Combine ground bison, grated onion, garlic, salt, pepper and paprika in a bowl. Mix gently.
  2. Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape into patties.
  3. Grill or pan-fry the patties for about 2 minutes per side.
  4. Place the patties on a baking tray, top with one or two slices of cheese, and finish in a preheated oven at 200°C (390°F) for about 4 minutes.
  5. Prepare the burger buns and toppings while the patties finish cooking.
  6. Assemble the burgers and serve immediately.
Serving tip: Lightly toast the buns and let the patties rest for a couple of minutes to keep them juicy.
