Welcome to Randeris Bison

Between Videbæk and Spjald – with wide horizons and wind moving through the grass – you’ll find one of Denmark’s few bison farms. Here, American bison roam freely in open landscapes, and from this place we run a small farm shop and a motorhome pitch.
We are Peder, and we take great pleasure in welcoming both guests and animals into calm, peaceful surroundings.

Randeris Bison is a place where nature, animal welfare, and curiosity go hand in hand. You are always welcome – whether you want to stay overnight with a view of the herd, take bison meat home, or simply enjoy a quiet walk along the fence.

Meet the owners of Randeris Bison

We Peder, and we have been keeping bison since 2007. We run the farm alongside our regular jobs – simply because we enjoy it. It all began with curiosity and a desire to work with animals on their own terms. Today, it has become a meaningful part of our everyday life – something we are proud to share with others.

We are hands-on people, grounded in reality. We feed and care for the animals every day, welcome guests, and manage the farm shop. It’s not our livelihood – it’s our passion,

About our animals

We have a herd of around 23–25 bison, including calves born each spring. The animals belong to the American bison breed, which is larger and broader than the European bison. Our breeding animals were purchased in Denmark, though their bloodlines originally come from the USA.
We have chosen to keep our animals together as one herd, with a natural hierarchy and social structure – just as they would live in the wild.

Their primary feed is grass or wrapped forage available ad libitum throughout the year. In addition, each animal receives 1 kg of supplementary feed with minerals daily, as the soil here naturally lacks the minerals they need.
During winter, they are also fed sorted-out table potatoes alongside the supplementary feed. The animals remain outdoors in the pasture all year.

Slaughter is carried out in a way that avoids stress for the animals. A veterinarian approves and oversees the process, and the animal is shot on site with a rifle – without transport. The meat is then sent to an approved butcher and prepared for the farm shop.

Order Bison Meat Directly from Our Farm

At Randeris Bison, we raise our animals with respect for nature and at their own pace. The bison live outdoors year-round in family groups and are slaughtered gently – without stress or long transport. The result is dark, lean, and flavourful meat of high quality.
